Barnsley Strengthen Off Field Team

30 May 2014

Barnsley have strengthened their Commercial and Finance teams as the club prepares for League One football.

The club has appointed Ray Storey as Head of Finance and Linton Brown joins the commercial team to support the Commercial Manager Rachel Bentley.

Ray joins the Oakwell Club from Nottingham Forest and Linton joins from Hull City of the Premier League.

Ray spent eight-and-a-half years at Forest, the last four years as Financial Controller.

“They’re putting together a very good group of people to enhance the current staff at Oakwell and I see this as a great opportunity. I want to help improve the off-field aspect, making the Club more efficient which in turn will give the opportunity to be more competitive on the field.”

Linton has joined Barnsley following seven successful seasons as Commercial Manager with Hull City.

“I’m thrilled and delighted to be joining Barnsley Football Club and I am hugely looking forward to being part of a new era at the club.

“Barnsley Football Club is a brand with a great tradition and history, alongside a very loyal, passionate and proud fan base.

“During my time with Hull City I have experienced two promotions from the npower Football League Championship, three seasons in the Barclays Premier League, and an unfortunate relegation, so I am fully aware of the challenges this may present.

“I am relishing this new challenge and very much look forward to working closely with the existing commercial department to enhance and maximise growth, and in doing so delivering a sustainable future for the club”
