Wilson's Huddersfield Reaction

1 March 2014

Reds Manager Danny Wilson gave his thoughts following today's 5-0 thumping at Huddersfield.

"You can analyse lots of things but, defensively, we were poor today," said Wilson. "I'm not talking about the back four, I mean as a group.

"For 30 minutes we were excellent today and I thought this was our day to really put our foot down on the gas and we did for 30 minutes.

"We should have had two or three goals, maybe four goals, in that period of time. We had some great chances but we didn't find the back of the net with any of them.

"As a group, defensively, that was poor. Second half - we were never in it.

"From where we are, we have to take positives from something and the first 30 minutes was fantastic at times. The rest of the game was poor.

"There are lots of things you can put it down to. We didn't retain the ball well enough and gave the ball away too easily.

"There were one or two good performances, I have to say, but that was only in the first 30 minutes or so.

"The only comfort in one respect is we're not far off, points-wise. We're still in there fighting."

The Reds boss also confirmed midfielder Jim O'Brien missed out due to suffering from flu.
