Kane Hemmings signs for Barnsley

Barnsley Football Club has completed the signing of 22 year-old striker Kane Hemmings on a one year deal.

Last season Kane Hemmings, who joined joined Scottish Championship side Cowdenbeath on a permanent one year deal, scored 24 goals in just 39 appearances, including two hat-tricks.

Hemmings, from Burton-on-Trent, progressed through the youth ranks at Tamworth before being spotted by Rangers in 2008 where he spent the next five years.

He made his debut for Rangers in 2011 as a substitute in a Champions League qualifier against Swedish side Malmo.

In January 2013 Hemmings went on loan to Cowdenbeath scoring four goals in his opening five games. In March he returned to Rangers and scored for them against Queen’s Park in April.
