The former Doncaster Rovers man signed a deal at Oakwell until the end of the season.
“Martin is a left-footed player which will add some balance in the side as we don’t have any left-footers in that area," said Danny.
"He gives us experience and quality that we are looking for. If you look at his career, he has had a few injuries, but when he has played it has been to a high standard and that’s another statement from our point of view that we want to bring in as much quality as possible.
"We’ve been able to add to the squad again in an area that was needed and where we can add competition for places which will help drive the players on plus it brings more hope and excitement for the fans."
