Dundalk Did Danny's Boys Well

27 January 2014

Reds Manager Danny Wilson labelled last week's trip to Ireland a 'success', after his squad crossed the Irish sea to face Dundalk.

"It was a success, we got everything we wanted out of it," Danny told U Reds. "We had match-time minutes which is what we wanted and a good result as well. We certainly won’t underestimate it as well because it was ‘only Dundalk’, it was a tough game, particularly on the artificial surface as well which is never easy. I thought the lads adapted very well to it and as the game grew on I thought we played very well. We got some goals under our belt, which always gives you confidence. Scoring gives you a good habit."

Danny's Reds came out 4-1 winners at Oriel Park in a match that saw the likes of Lewin Nyatanga, Christian Dibble and Reuben Noble-Lazarus complete 90 minutes.

"Overall we wanted everyone to get together and understand each other because this is the group that’s going to carry us forward to the end of the season," added Danny. "With that camaraderie comes that trust and respect for each other and hopefully the confidence within the group will grow."
