The Club’s recent fan-engagement regarding the option of adopting a new crest gained a fantastic response from the supporters.
The Club wanted to explore whether fans were open to a new design to carry us forward or if the current design was something you, the fans, were generally happy with. The overall results highlighted that nearly 80% opted for a new design, but the voting finished neck and neck between option ‘D’ and the existing crest.
Although there has been a clear vote for change, the margin between the top two designs was so narrow that the Club felt it would be appropriate to stick with our current crest design.
The high level of fan-engagement is something we were delighted with and we believe it is important when making decisions such as this, the fans’ opinions are heard and taken into account.
The design choice of a crest was only part of an overall process. Our ‘Be proud. Be Barnsley.’ message will be a key feature in our future communications and this will be highlighted in various guises and areas of the Club to help present a consistent feel to Barnsley Football Club.
