Midfielder Abbott struck before half-time only for the hosts to score from Zac Thompson's deflected strike just before the hour mark.
Academy Coach Chris Howarth said, "It was a good, proper game of football. They had a strong side and our young lads were brilliant. We conceded via a deflection which is unlucky but I’m pleased with the lads."
