Barnsley FC gets behind the Tiny Hearts Appeal.

9 December 2014

Barnsley Hospital Charity has launched the Tiny Hearts Appeal, which aims to raise £1 million over the next two years to help fund a brand new Special Care Baby Unit at the hospital.

The Reds staff and squad were in full attendance last night for the Tiny Hearts Appeal premiere at the Parkway Cinema, Barnsley. We are proud and delighted to support this great cause which will help premature babies in the local area.

Barnsley Hospital Charity has launched the Tiny Hearts Appeal, which aims to raise £1 million over the next two years to help fund a brand new Special Care Baby Unit at the hospital. The new unit aims to provide an even better standard of care for all the special care babies and the most comfortable environment for all families and staff on the unit.

The new unit will be built around the needs of the babies and their families. State-of-the-art equipment will be provided to enable the Special Care Baby Unit team to continue their fantastic care and enhance their capabilities.

All money raised for the Tiny Hearts Appeal will be used to buy essential equipment such as intensive care units for babies that need that extra help with breathing, keeping warm or feeding, double beds and homely furniture for families who need to stay at the hospital, and the best infant resuscitator equipment.

By texting Tiny02 plus your donation amount to 70070 you can contribute to the Tiny Hearts Appeal and support premature babies throughout Barnsley.

Reds supporter and Barnsley-born Sir Michael Parkinson introduces the campaign’s promotional video, giving examples of the kinds of children and families the new unit will help and encouraging people to get behind the appeal. Watch the video below.
