Danny's Burnley Reaction

8 April 2014

Reds Manager Danny Wilson gave his thoughts following tonight's 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Oakwell.

"I think as far as application goes you can't really fault them," said Wilson of the Reds' performance.

"We didn't create as many chances as we have done in recent games and that's down to how Burnley played - you look how well they've done this season, a lot of them have been clean sheets.

"From our point of view it was difficult to create. We got some good opportunities and maybe turned them down at times.

"It was huff and puff at times. I'm disappointed how we gave the goal away.

"We're fighting for our lives at the bottom so there's going to be a lot of tenacious tackles and collisions.

"You've got to be really committed and I can't fault the players for that.

"We've got to do better in situations that we do create.

"We've still got to keep persevering and create the chances like we have done.

"Sometimes you've got to put balls in areas at times and not try and dribble past four or five players.

"We've got to aim to win the remaining games. There are 18 points available and we've got to aim for all 18."

Wilson also confirmed Liam Lawrence missed out through a slight calf strain and could be back for the weekend at Bolton.
