Ramage Ready for Watford Test

19 September 2013

Reds defender Peter Ramage is looking forward to his Oakwell début this Saturday as Barnsley host Watford in the Skybet Championship.

‘Rambo’ has made two appearances on the road for the Reds, in two defeats at Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, but is keen on representing his new side in a red shirt.

“It’s been weird because I’ve been here two weeks and not touched the surface of Oakwell,” he told barnsleyfc.co.uk. “Hopefully, we can start Saturday and get a positive result to kick on from there.

“I'm enjoying it. We could be sitting here with more points but things are positive and we’re creating chances which will hopefully go in.

“We could have had a couple of points from the last two away games but we just haven't got the rub of the green.

“It’s a good sign that we’re playing well, we’ll hope to pick up a few points over the coming games.

“We’ve got players in the dressing room hungry to do well. There's a lot of talent there. We just need to start winning games.”

Saturday’s visitors, Watford, were defeated by Ramage’s parent club Crystal Palace in last season’s Play-Off Final at Wembley.

“Obviously we played them in the final and they’re a team that love to pass the ball still,” he added. “They’re a typical Gian Zola team with the ball down and create a lot of chances. Troy Deeney’s banging them in for fun as well, but we know if we play our game we can beat them.”
