Flitcroft's Watford Reaction

21 September 2013

Reds Manager David Flitcroft caught up with the press following today's 5-1 hammering at home to Watford.

"Completely inept at times, defending-wise. Schoolboy errors.

"We accepted good players doing, at times, whatever they wanted to do. That's hurt me, accepting that. Goals change games and the first goal that goes in, the kid was offside and the two goals after that are as poor as you're going to see.

"The full 95 minutes of football we've played today isn't good enough and the players were told that.

"We've got to defend our box better, because it wasn't an onslaught from Watford.

"We put good quality in the box but the breakaway goals they've scored from - lapses of concentration.

"We never got the second (goal) so we're talking about the five goals they've scored.

"It think if we draw this game today 2-2, are we just papering over cracks?

"We're not in denial at the football club. We've got to do something about it."
