Reds Manager David Flitcroft spoke to Barnsley Player following tonight’s 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
“I asked the players to give us and the fans who made the trip down here everything, they were the inspiration for us,” he said.
“We’ve been down here two days preparing for a game we felt we could win.
“Second half we dug in a little bit. I think the pace of the kid (Rantie) who came on was quite incredible.
“It put us on the back foot a little bit. We tried to get strikers up the pitch with Jason Scotland and Dale Jennings.
“Certainly first half, I felt we dominated the play and we had them on the back foot.
“We kept the ball well and were high up the pitch.
“I think a bit more composure and bravery on the ball and we’d have opened them up and got opportunities.
“They’ve given us everything today, there’s no doubt about that.”
