Sky Bet Championship Market Movers

28 October 2013

Burnley’s price for promotion has shortened from 5/2 to 15/8 after proving their credentials with a 2-0 win over title favourites Queens Park Rangers.

Danny Ings was the hero with a brace, which was a 14/1 shot with Football League sponsor Sky Bet prior to kick-off, with two second-half strikes sealing the win.

It was QPR’s first Championship defeat of the season and sees their odds to win the division drift out from 5/4 to 11/8, though they remain clear favourites ahead of Leicester.

The Foxes leapfrogged QPR into second spot in the table thanks to a 2-1 win over Bournemouth, seeing them slashed from 11/2 to 5/1 second favourites, with now Burnley rated 6/1.

Meanwhile, Derby may have lost their perfect start under new boss Steve McClaren but they continue to shorten in the promotion odds, having drawn 1-1 draw with Birmingham.

The Rams were 12/1 to go up before the former England boss took over but, having gone 11/1 following his first win, are now 10/1 as they sit eighth in the table.

Elsewhere, Jordan Rhodes continued to show why he is 11/4 favourite to top the Sky Bet Championship scoring charts with a penalty in Blackburn’s 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

However, Danny Ings made up some ground and now has nine to his name, with Rhodes leading the way on 10. Thus, Ings represents the value bet at 14/1 to top the pile come May.
