Ipswich v Reds: Roadworks Information

28 October 2013

Reds fans making the trip to Portman Road for this Friday Night’s Sky Bet Championship clash at Ipswich are advised of the following road traffic information.

There will be overnight road works taking place on the A14 between Copdock and Seven Hills interchanges (near to Ipswich) that may affect supporters leaving the match at Portman Road on the evening of Friday 1st November.

These works will not affect people arriving to the match, as they do not start until 10pm in the evening, but will be ongoing until 5am so could delay motorists on their journey away from Ipswich town centre that evening.

On the night of Friday 1 November, the A14 between Junction 55 (Copdock) and Seven Hills (Junction 58) will be closed to traffic wishing to travel eastbound (towards Felixstowe). Traffic will be diverted from the A14 at Copdock towards Ipswich town centre and directed to travel around the north of Ipswich via the A1214,  A1189 and A1156 to rejoin the A14 at Seven Hills interchange to continue their journey.

The majority of traffic leaving Portman Road wishing to access the A12 or A14 westbound away from Ipswich (including travelling Barnsley supporters) will head towards Junction 55 and not be affected by the diversion as westbound A14 traffic will be able to join the A14 here away from Ipswich.

Local supporters wishing to head east from Copdock towards Felixstowe on the A14 will be affected and will need to follow the diversion route above from Junction 55 around the north of Ipswich.
