Booth: From Barnsley to Bangkok

1 October 2013

David Booth made 187 appearances for Barnsley in four years at Oakwell from 1968. Now the former full-back is living in Bangkok, Thailand, having been on a remarkable Managerial journey via ten different countries.

"I miss England a lot but I’ve moved from one job to another straight away," Booth told our matchday magazine, U Reds, for tonight's match with Reading. "I’ve been lucky that I’ve been in work all this time. At the moment my contract had finished in May and I’m happy out here living in Thailand.”

Read more from David as he talks about playing alongside Eric Winstanley, switching to play up front for the Reds at one stage, and how he earned a trial at Oakwell by knocking on Norman Rimmington's front door!

Don't miss tonight's edition at Oakwell for £3 or buy online for your iPad/iPhone for £2.99 via the matchday digital app here.
