Five Youngsters Sign Pro Deals

16 May 2013

Barnsley Football Club is pleased to announce that four Academy second-year scholars have signed professional terms at Oakwell.

Striker Rhys Oates and midfielders McCauley Shillito, Brad Abbott and Erico Sousa have all signed a one-year deal with the Reds. Also, after a successful trial period, left-sided defender Antonie Boland has signed a one-year professional contract.

The quartet will turn profession for the 2013/14 season, aiming for first team football as they develop their game with the Under 21s side.
Paul Heckingbottom, Reds Under 21s Coach, told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk "We are pleased to take on the five lads who now have an opportunity to progress and work towards potential first-team football. We'll work towards this with Under 21s football and perhaps loan spells to experience competitive football."
