Flitcroft's Project Excites M'voto

23 July 2013

Barnsley's latest recruit, Jean-Yves M'Voto, has revealed how Manager David Flitcroft enticed him to Oakwell.

The 6ft 4'' defender penned a two-year contract with the Reds today, and spoke to Barnsley Player after agreeing the deal, "I had a talk with the Manager, I like his project and everything he said. I just wanted to come to Barnsley," he said.

“He told me he wants people who will work hard for me. So that fitted for me because I like to work hard.

“I’m excited and ready for it.

“I just want to play and let the fans see me and see what they like.

"I’m very happy to be in Barnsley now. I heard about the move a couple of days ago."

The 24-year-old began his career with PSG and crossed the channel to Sunderland in 2008. He appeared on loan for Southend and Oldham before joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2011. He then made 123 appearances for the Latics from 2011 – 49 of which were made last term.
