Former Tykes 'Keeper passes away

Barnsley Football Club has today been saddened to learn of the death of former Reds goalkeeper Jack Walls, who passed away at the age of 80.

Jack joined the Reds from Dawden Juniors in May 1949 and made eight appearances for the Tykes, making his début against Everton in January 1953. He then spent time at Peterborough United, making 240 appearances for the London Road side and was their ‘keeper for the club’s first two years in the Football League.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Jack’s family and friends at this difficult time.
