Flicker's thoughts
Reds Manager David Flitcroft caught up with the press following today’s 2-1 victory over Blackpool.
“On reflection, I didn’t know what sort of side we’d be facing in Blackpool,” said Flitcroft.
“Some of the players on show, Premier League players, tested us. They were full of guile and quality. But for all that quality, pace, power and force, we’ve had to dig deep – the hardest we’ve had to dig all season.
“Every man who has played their part today has been incredible.
“It’s important I make sure no complacency sets in. we’ve got some quality players on the bench who can give us a lift. It gives the lads a lift with the likes of O’Grady and Scotland coming on. It’s almost time stands still for Scotland in the box – it’s incredible.
“The substitutes in the group are vital.
“They were dominating us but we come here last year, they got a man sent off and still dominated. They are so brave and they overloaded even with one man sent off.
“I had to change the shape three times in one game – Tom Kennedy played in three different positions.
“We’re not interested in what other teams are doing. It’s about what we do. With that support I’ve witnessed today, we can be strong.”
