Reds boss on another win
Reds Manager David Flitcroft caught up with the press following today’s remarkable victory at Middlesbrough.“Everyone who is around that group is asking for the same thing – resolve and commitment,” said Flitcroft.
“We’ve seen incredible commitment to the cause for over 90 minutes. I asked the players to use their initiative and to adapt to whatever was thrown at them.
“I was proud today as I have been from day one. That was a magnanimous effort from a group of players who don’t like defeat.
“We never gave up and we were saying ‘this is us, we’re never giving up’.
“At one point I was thinking a draw would be good. They showed incredible respect to Barnsley Football Club by lining up with only one striker. When you see that, and we controlled the first half quite comfortably, they had to change it.
“It unbalanced us and at times we struggled to cope, they had momentum and I had to counter-balance that momentum.
“To get the third (goal) caps the day, they deserve that.
“Every night as I say to the players ‘make every day a masterpiece’.”
