Etuhu 'Okay' - Flitcroft

19 February 2013

Reds Manager David Flitcroft met with the media ahead of tonight’s big clash with Wolves at Oakwell.

“I’m quite excited about the visit of Wolves,” said Flitcroft. “While we’ve got this momentum, the players want to get out there and keep playing games.

“We’ve been monitoring him (Kelvin Etuhu). He’s becoming more focussed. He did a light training session yesterday and came through okay.

“It was sickening to see because he’s a tough kid and he looked in a bit of a mess. He’s shown what resilience he’s got. Everything was spot on though afterwards, it was great to see.

“Reuben (Noble-Lazarus) should be training with us by the end of the week.

“I think Wednesday I might have to do something (in the loan market) if we get any more injuries. There’ll be no panic buttons, we don’t need to. They’re a dressing room united.”

The Reds boss is hopeful the fans turn out in force tonight to back the boys to victory, like in recent encounters on the road.

“At MK Dons first half it was like a home fixture,” he continued. “The football was incredible and the players were outstanding. From the minute we got off the coach I knew we’d win the game. There was a massive round of applause from the fans who awaited there.

“It was the first time the fans have ever done that. The lads were buoyant in the dressing room because of the fans’ reaction."
