Dagnall: I Could Have Had Three

20 February 2013

Reds striker Chris Dagnall bagged his seventh goal in eight games last night to help Barnsley overcome Wolves 2-1 at Oakwell.

The former Scunthorpe man popped up with a smart header in the second half to haul the Reds level before Jacob Mellis bagged the winner.

“I could have had three,” said Dagnall.

“We started off fairly poorly, the first 15 to 20 minutes we were slow out of the blocks.

“The fans were unbelievable, they got right behind us and we managed to get the two goals and the win.”

The Reds are finally out of the bottom three after putting together an incredible run of form, winning eight out of the last nine matches in both the league and cup.

“It seemed that we were winning every week and not moving!” continued Dagnall.

“A lot of teams are in the relegation fight but there’s still a lot to play for.

“We’ve got a good squad, we’ve had a few injuries but the lads who have come in have done brilliant.”
