Dyer backs the Reds' revival

"I must applaud the club for slashing ticket prices, I hope more fans will come out in full force at this critical stage of the season. It's a powerful thing when there is unity, so let's continue to get behind the Manager and the team and, God willing, we will have something great to celebrate at the end of the season."

The only home match of February sees Wolves visit Oakwell tomorrow and Dyer - who still lives in the local area - has called on the townsfolk to back their club to the hilt.

"It's been so refreshing to see Barnsley's form of late," Dyer told barnsleyfc.co.uk. "The team have shown commitment and a fighting spirit that if they continue will see them move up the table."

The former striker, who hit more than 70 goals for the Tykes, is pleased to see his old club on a surging run in both the league and cup.

Former Oakwell favourite Bruce Dyer has called on the town to back the Reds as they aim to climb out of trouble.
