Wilson's Post-Match Reaction

21 December 2013

Reds Manager Danny Wilson caught up with the press following today's 0-0 draw at Elland Road.

"I thought for large parts of the first half, we played very well," said Danny. "We passed it quite well. After the chance where Jack Butland made the save, we had some good chances.

"It was very difficult and we had to defend well at times. You have to do that at times at Leeds.

"To come here in a derby game, we deserve credit for how we played. We came here with a positive attitude and didn't want to come in and just make up the numbers. We wanted to show the type of players we've got.

"It was difficult when we went down to ten men. The boys worked hard for each other."

Marcus Tudgay was dismissed late on for a challenge on Zaliukas, and Wilson commented, "It wasn't anything malicious. He's not that type of guy, it looked worse than it was."

And regarding the Reds' first clean sheet on the road this season, WIlson said of the returning Nyatanga and Hassell. "I've got to be very pleased with them (Nyatanga and  Hassell). I felt we needed a bit of height in Lewin. They've come in and got cramp - which you'd expect.

"They can go home tonight and know how and why we've got the result. It's got to give you confidence."
