Reds 13/8 For Safety With Sky Bet

19 December 2013

New Barnsley boss Danny Wilson is 13/8 to guide them to safety in the Sky Bet Championship after moving in for his second spell in the Oakwell hot seat.

Wilson will be keen to hit the ground running and Sky Bet offers 40/1 that the Tykes win his first three league games in charge, starting with the Yorkshire derby against Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday. These are followed by home clashes with Bolton Wanderers and Derby County.

Alternatively the online bookmaker quotes 6/1 that Wilson’s new charges remain unbeaten over the same schedule.

The Tykes, who are 18/5 to secure a win at Leeds, can also be backed to 40/1 to secure a top-half finish.

Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer: “Barnsley are in a tough position but if anyone can lift them it’s Danny Wilson, who enjoyed such a successful spell with the club last time around.

“He obviously has a job on his hands but the club showed last season that they should never be counted out after being deep in trouble before surviving on the last day of the season with a draw at Huddersfield.”
