"It's part of the entertainment," he said. "I think we all have been (entertained).
"The fitness of the players was outstanding. In the game tonight they've been excellent.
"It's a good night. I thought we completely dominated the game.
"I'm delighted with a lot of aspects, I'm delighted that we've come through 120 minutes of football.
"There were some really good performances and energy levels tonight.
"Don't forget a lot of this team played 90 minutes against Wigan, with ten men for 35 minutes."
Luke Steele made three saves but missed what would have been the deciding penalty, hitting the top of the post.
"Steeley's made for these nights," added Flitcroft. "The save at the end was Luke Steele-esque. He's composed and thoughtful. He's got the agility."
Martin Cranie was withdrawn through injury, and is a cause for concern for manager Flitcroft, "We're not sure what knee damage it is," he added. "It's serious enough to get a scan on that tomorrow."
