Flitcroft on Blackburn Test

23 August 2013

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft leads his side to Ewood Park tomorrow as the Reds go head to head with Blackburn Rovers in the Skybet Championship.

The Reds are without defender Martin Cranie, but midfielder David Perkins has been rated 'touch and go' as Barnsley cross the Pennines.

"We're in good shape," said Flitcroft. "Dale Jennings is back from suspension, so he's available. Since he's been suspended he's been on a different programme. We've had some assistance from Man United on his programme, we felt it would benefit him and he's stuck to it.

"There's been a big change at the football club," he added of Blackburn.

"They've got Jordan Rhodes who is a renowned goal-scorer in this league. Leon Best, Scott Dann - with Premier League clubs wanting him.

"There's some good players in that team, there's no doubt about that.

"They should have got results in the league this season but they haven't done. Everybody is finding where they're at and Blackburn are no different.

"We've got to concentrate on what we're doing, that's the key.

"The Blackburn players have to handle getting promoted, they've got to finish in the top three, there's no doubt about that. The players they've signed have to handle that pressure, so we're going to go and apply that pressure to them."
