Reds Manager David Flitcroft has lauded the faithful following of Barnsley supporters after another gutsy display on the road was witnessed by more than a thousand Tykes.
“I think if you give fans an honest and sincere performance and everything for this shirt – can you give anything more than that?
“The way they’ve supported us has been magnificent. I’ve said in the press before it’s overwhelming at times.
“We growing as a group and as a football club. The relationship between these players and fans is growing.”
With two games left and everything to play for, the Barnsley boss only asks for more of the same from the current crop of supporters who have backed their team to the hilt in recent months.
“I’ve got to be really honest and say if the same fans come in (against Hull) and give us what they’ve given us – they’ve been incredible,” he continued. “They’ve become supporters of this group and me, Mick Mellon’s and Martin Scott’s management style.
“If we can get new supporters in and they can be part of it – brilliant.
“I’m sure our fans will back us up and try and calm us down.”
