Stones on England Experience

10 September 2012

Young Red - Young Lion

Barnsley defender John Stones says his international experience with England's Under 19s last week was one of the 'biggest honours' of his career so far.

The 18-year-old was brought into Noel Blake's squad for the friendly match with Germany in Hamburg, and completed a full 90 minutes for the Young Lions.

"Playing one game for them was unbelievable," Stones exclusively told barnsleyfc.co.uk.

You can read more from John Stones in Saturday's official matchday magazine, The Reds, as Barnsley take on Blackpool at Oakwell.

"I can’t really remember too much about any game - only key bits. Walking out then singing the anthem was great. I did belt the national anthem out! Everyone should just sing their heart out for it. All the lads were singing it hard."
