Be sure to pick up your commemorative issue of The Reds this weekend as we celebrate 125 years of Barnsley Football Club.

There’s a host of features included, as well as a look at our counterparts of the day, Blackpool – who are also celebrating their 125th anniversary.

We take a look at how our believed club was formed by the determined Reverend Tiverton Preedy with early newspaper reports and rare photographs from the late 19th century.

Included are two sections on notable Managers who have made a significant impact on the club’s history, as well as a focus on several ‘unfamiliar’ players from yesteryear.

Turning to more contemporary matters, there’s an exclusive interview with youngster John Stones who tells of his recent exploits for England’s Under 19s as well as the thoughts of a proud Academy Manager, Ronnie Branson. New Academy Coach and former Reds Paul Heckingbottom also catches up with the Reds about his new role alongside the Tykes youngsters.
