Personal best for Perkins
Reds midfielder David Perkins last night capped a man-of-the-match performance with a wonderful equaliser against Crystal Palace.
The 30-year-old pretty much ran the show and covered every blade of grass after a slow start before his 22-yard stunner that earned his side a point.
"It was nice just to score!" said Perkins. "I've not scored
goals!" bettermany goals never mind "We’re reasonably happy, but just very disappointed with the first 15 minutes."
"I think you’ve got to give them (Crystal Palace) respect, they have some quality players in their team and Glenn Murray was excellent. You could name a few others, they were brilliant at the back, they defended at the back and were defending for their lives.
"I think there were other players that stood up but didn’t score, it was a good second half.
