Hill Hails 'Incredible' Perkins

Hill's thoughts on Perkins display

“I won’t apologise for making tactical decisions, it’s never personal,” he added.

Hill made two fairly early substitutions after his side went 1-0 down to a Glenn Murray opener with Etuhu and Done replacing Cywka and Dagnall.

“Incredible,” beamed Hill of Perkins. “Let’s be right he was incredible all night. He is a dynamo, he’s a magician. For somebody who’s 30 years of age I should really check his birth certificate because he’s probably playing like a 17-year-old and he probably looks to a lot of people like he is 17, 18 years of age. I’m just really pleased for David Perkins.”

Reds boss Keith Hill has heaped praise on midfielder David Perkins after his 22-yard stunner earned his side a point against Crystal Palace last night.

“I just want to reassure the players that they are ready to step over that line from ‘possibles’, maybes and ‘failings’ to be successful.”

With top-scorer out for up to four weeks, Hill is scouring the market for a striker to bolster his side’s attacking options.

“I’ve got to look at the possibility of recruiting,” he added. “I’ve got no problem putting Danny Rose on, none at all, but we are shallow now. Mido played on Monday but he’s nowhere near match fit.

“The players that I would like to bring in are financially very heavy.”
