Egyptian star on the comeback trail
Reds Manager Keith Hill has revealed Egyptian striker Mido is nearing a return to fitness.
The 29-year-old is yet to make his Barnsley debut after suffering a hamstring tear during the warm-up at Doncaster Rovers in a pre-season friendly.
“He’s sort of fit but I don’t believe he’s match fit,” Hill told the press this morning. “There will be a time when he definitely comes into my thinking. I’ve had a chat with him about what I expect.
“I don’t want a Mido show without it being tangible with respect to him making a positive impact.
“He’s played in the development games but I need him to be fitter.
“He’s got game-knowledge, he’s got game-understanding. He might be able to come on and do a 20-30-minute cameo and provide us with that little bit of inspiration and enthusiasm as well.”
