The injury came as a result of a clash between himself and the Blackburn keeper, Jake Kean, who also required treatment at the time.
Tudgay was taken to hospital following the incident.
His loan spell is due to finish on the 3rd January 2013, but since sustaining the injury he has now returned to Nottingham Forest and is under their care.
