The tie will be played on the weekend of the 5th/6th January 2013. Details and ticket prices are still to be finalised.
The two sides have only played each other once in the FA Cup back in 1911.
The last time they met in the League Cup was in September 2009 when Barnsley won 3-2 to set up a home tie against Manchester United.
