Goalkeeper wings in...

Keith Hill said of his latest recruit, “He’s a player that I’ve admired for quite a long period of time. It’s a great opportunity to come into a team full of confidence.”

The stopper spent three years with Manchester City from 2009 and also made more than 300 senior appearances in the top level in South America, Turkey and Scotland.

A Colombian international, he actually featured against the Reds for Brighton last season in the final match of the campaign – keeping a clean sheet in the process.

The 30-year-old looks set for his debut against Middlesbrough this weekend, considering Ben Alnwick’s three-match suspension and Luke Steele’s injury.

Barnsley Football Club have completed the signing of goalkeeper David Gonzalez on a non-contract basis.
