In a game that won't live long in the memory, Wycombe left Oakwell with all three points in Sky Bet League One action.

Three outstanding goals saw the Chairboys to a first victory at Oakwell in their history and condemned the Reds to a first defeat on home soil at this level for six years. 

Whilst the performance wasn't the best from Barnsley, they dominated the opening 45 regardless, but failed to take any of the opportunities created. 

A Josh Benson free-kick was whipped in at pace and Robbie Cundy climbed high to meet it, but saw his header tipped over, one-handed by debut goalkeeper Max Stryjek. 

Liam Kitching drove 60 yards upfield, beating midfielders before unleashing an effort that took a deflection and spooned up and into the 'keeper's hands. 

Against the run of play and with pretty much their first attack of note, Anis Mehmeti produced a moment of magic, getting the ball out of his feet before wrapping his right foot around the ball and bending his effort into the far corner, giving Brad Collins no chance from just inside the box. 

The Reds nearly levelled almost immediatly when Jack Aitchison fired at the goalkeeper who again tipped over the bar, but we headed into the interval 1-0 down. 

HALF-TIME: Barnsley 0-1 Wycombe

Despite being ahead, it was the visitors who started on top after the break. 

Lewis Wing tested Collins with a free-kick before Mehmeti somehow contrived to miss from a yard out; he hit the woodwork after Garath McCleary had seen his initial effort scuff against the base of the post. 

There was a controversial moment soon after when Aitchison looked to have squared from the byline perfectly for Devante Cole to slide in at the near post but the striker looked to have been wiped out by his marker. However, the referee was nonplussed. 

Within minutes, the away side doubled their lead and it was another special strike. The Chairboys captain, Dominic Gape saw Collins off his line and lobbed him from all of 45 yards. 

That second goal deflated an already struggling Reds side, and Wycombe wrapped up proceedings late on with a third goal, and again, a marvellous effort. This time, it was sub Nick Freeman finding the top corner from outside the box. 

A match to forget, and quickly.
