Barnsley couldn't find a way through at Sincil Bank this evening.

The opening 45 was one of frustration for the Reds, who bossed proceedings but couldn't muster enough opportunities despite their dominance. 

A number of well-worked moves saw Barnsley inside the box but the ball would be blocked last ditch or take an unlucky bounce, allowing our hosts to clear their lines. 

Jordan Williams tried one from distance as the ball was headed out of the penalty area but his well-struck effort cleared the bar. 

On the half-hour mark, James Norwood glanced a header wide from an Adam Phillips right-wing cross, before our clearest chance of the half.

After scrambling the ball out of the six yard box, the Lincoln defence watched on as it fell perfectly for Herbie Kane 16 yards out, but the Reds midfielder's first time shot grazed the bar on its way over. It was a big chance missed.

The home side's only real opportunity came on the stroke of half time as Paudie O'Connor met an inswinging corner but saw his looping header come back off the crossbar of Harry Isted.

There was only Barnsley trying to win the game for most of the second half with the Imps happy to waste time and play for what would be their 14th stalemate of the season here at Sincil Bank.

Former Reds defender Adam Jackson prevented Adam Phillips putting us ahead with a last-gasp slide tackle that thwarted the midfielder.

Substitute Luke Thomas saw an effort easily saved from the edge of the box, as Duff's men continued to ask the question. 

But it was one of those evenings sadly, and the Reds had to settle for a point in Sky Bet League One, with four games left to play.
