Irish midfielder Conor Hourihane became a prized asset of the Reds' XI after an outstanding season for Barnsley throughout 2015/16

Hourihane joined the Reds from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract in June 2014 and soon showed just how deadly his left can be.

The 24-year-old midfielder from Cork made 142 appearances for the Pilgrims over three seasons and had been their Club captain since the 2012/13 campaign.

After coming up through the youth ranks at Sunderland, he made a move to Ipswich Town in 2010. The following season he moved to Plymouth where he built up an impressive reputation in the heart of their midfield.

A representative for the Republic of Ireland team at both Under 19 and Under 21 level, he smashed the assists and goals chart for Barnsley - scoring 14 goals whilst creating 19 for his team.
