MARK ROBINS - FIRST TEAM MANAGER

MARK Robins was appointed the Clubs' first team manager on September 9, 2009.

Born in Ashton-under-Lyme in 1969, Mark came up through the ranks at Manchester United making 70 appearances for the Red Devils, netting 17 goals, between 1986 and 1992.

Mark's shining moment in the colours of Manchester United came in a FA Cup Third Round tie at Nottingham Forest in January 1990. With United manager Sir Alex Ferguson under severe pressure, Mark came off the bench and saved his boss from the axe by netting a late, late winner. He also bagged the winner in the semi final replay against Oldham Athletic. It was the start of Manchester United's total dominance of the English game.

A predatory striker with a real eye for goal in the penalty area, Mark won international honours for England at U21 level, picking up six caps.

An £800,000 switch to Norwich City followed and again Mark was on the goal trail with 21 in 79 games. He enjoyed spells at Leicester City, Reading, Ourense, Panionios, Manchester City and Walsall before signing for Rotherham United on 2000. Mark enjoyed his most productive spell during three years at Millmoor with 49 goals in 79 matches. He also played for Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday before hanging up his boots following a spell with Burton Albion in 2005.

He made his first move into management by taking over at Rotherham United in 2007 and has guided the Millers through one of the most turbulent spells in their history. They overcame a massive points deduction in League Two last season and Mark threatened to dumbfound the bookies by guiding Rotherham to within striking distance of the play offs.

Rotherham have enjoyed an outstanding start to the 2009/2010 League Two campaign. They also dumped Championship side Derby County out of the Carling Cup before taking West Brom to extra time in the next round.
