TEN-year-old Barnsley FC fan Nial Lancaster was delighted to meet his footballing heroes last month when the Club's first team visited Barnsley Building Society's Cheapside branch to meet fans and sign autographs.

He now has even more to cheer about after winning a match ball signed by the team as part of a competition held on the day!

Nial is from Darfield and has a Junior Reds savings account - a special Barnsley FC account for young football fans.He visited the branch in the half term holidays with his mum Emma to meet his favourite players including Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Martin Devaney and Kayode Odejayi.

Everyone who called into the branch during the player visit was invited to enter a free prize draw to win the signed match ball and Nial was delighted when his name was drawn out of the hat!

Nial said: "I've been a Reds fan for as long as I remember and I go to all the home games and sit in the Beckett Stand.I play football for my school team - Darfield Valley - and hope to be a professional midfielder when I'm older.My new ball will take pride of place in my bedroom along with all my other Barnsley stuff!"

The team visited the branch on Cheapside to promote Barnsley Building Society's Red Saver and Junior Red Saver accounts.Both accounts are linked to Barnsley FC and provide a great range of benefits to Reds fans including ten per cent off at the team shop, priority access to away day tickets and for Juniors a signed birthday card and academy training days are also included.
