RISING star Reuben Noble-Lazarus, the youngest player ever to have set foot on a pitch in the Football League, called into the town centre branch of Barnsley Building Society to open a Junior Reds Saver Account this week
Whilst Reuben is keen to make a name for himself on the pitch, he's also aware of the financial opportunities open to him in his chosen career and is keen to ensure that he gets the savings bug early. The Junior Reds Saver account offered him the ability to save at a great rate, currently 4.2 per cent gross/AER per annum, but he's also supporting Barnsley FC through the annual bonus payment made by the Society on behalf of Reds Saver account holders.
The Junior Reds Saver account, available to all youngsters from the age zero to their 16th birthday, offers some pretty interesting incentives. The account comes with an enhanced savings rate, offers instant access to balances and can be opened with just £1. Accounts can be operated by the child over seven or by a trustee throughout the age range. All account holders will get a signed birthday card from the Club. Throughout the season, Junior Reds Saver will get access to incentives such as mascot packages and potential training days and account holders get ten per cent off club shop purchases.
Whilst Reuben wont be taking advantage of most of the incentives in his privileged position, he does find it funny that he'll get an official birthday card from his team mates when he's 16 when his account will automatically transfer to the status of an adult Reds Saver account.
