BARNSLEY Football Club announced the arrival of goalkeeper David Preece will sign a one-year deal at Oakwell, with the option of a further 12-months, in July 2009.
The 34-year-old started his career as a youngster at Sunderland before enjoying a spell at Darlington, where he clocked up more than 100 first team matches in two years. He joined Aberdeen in 1999 before switching to Danish football with Silkeborg six years later. He moved across Denmark to OB in 2008.
David spent most of 2009/2010 as second choice but confidently grasped his opportunity when injury and suspension meant a chance to impress. He made seven first team appearances for the Reds during the season and never looked out of place between the sticks.
