BARNSLEY Football Club have completed the signing of highly-rated Uruguayan international midfielder Diego Arismendi on a season loan from Premier League side Stoke City in July 2010.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, the 22-year-old came up through the ranks at Nacional in his homeland before making the move to Stoke City in August 2009. He made two appearances for the Potters last season, ending the campaign on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, where he clocked up six matches.
Diego was capped by Uruguay for the first time in May 2008, and has gone on to represent the World Cup semi finalists on one further occasion.
