BARNSLEY again raided European football to bring Frenchman Mounir El Haimour to Oakwell.
The 27-year-old left-sided player signed a two-year deal with the Reds after the Club agreed an undisclosed fee with Swiss side NE Xamax.
Born in Limoges, France, Mounir started his career with spells at Chatellerault and Swiss side Champagne Sports before signing for Yverdon in Switzerland in 2002. Mounir has spent three years with NE Xamax although he enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Russian side Spartak Alania in 2004.
Mounir moved across Switzerland to sign for Schaffhausen in 2006 and again was a regular, making 26 appearances before his switch to NE Xamax at the start of last season. He turned out 31 times for NE Xamax in the Swiss top flight during the 2007/2008 campaign helping the Club to avoid the drop with an eighth place finish.
Mounir's debut season at Oakwell was a bit of a hit and miss affair as he struggled to get regular first team football despite a bright start at QPR on the opening day. He missed a month of the campaign due to Ramadan and never really got back into the side.
