BARNSLEY FC completed the loan signing of West Bromwich Albion midfielder Filipe Teixeira ahead of the transfer window closing in early February 2010.
Filipe signed for West Brom in 2007 after spells with Academica de Coimbra, Felgueiras, Istres and Paris St Germain. A former Portuguese U21 international, Filipe is an attacking midfielder with a fine pedigree and has impressed during his spell at West Brom. Filipe has made 72 appearances for West Brom during his spell at the Hawthorns.
Reds boss Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "Filipe is technically a top, top player. He is a playmaker who was instrumental in helping West Brom win promotion a couple of seasons ago. He will come here initially for a month but his contract is up at the end of the season and will give both parties the chance to have a much closer look at each other.
"Filipe needs to play games and if we can get him playing to the top of his ability then he will be a very, very good addition to our squad and will benefit us greatly".
