BARNSLEY FC beat the deadline to sign Burnley frontman Jay Rodriguez on a one month loan.
Jay has come up through the youth system at Turf Moor and has gone on to make 38 first team appearances for the Clarets. He enjoyed a fine spell on loan at Stirling in 2007 and featured against the Reds at Oakwell in the Carling Cup back in late September.
Reds boss Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "Jay is a young player who I have watched for a while. I believe he will go on to become and established Premier League player in the future. He is a clever player with a lot of ability and someone who scored some good goals.
"He needs to play matches and he will get that opportunity with us here. I am sure both Jay and Filipe (Teixeira) will be warmly welcomed by everybody at Barnsley FC and we are all looking forward to seeing them in action for us".
