HIGHLY-rated Scarborough youngster Michael Coulson signed for the Reds in the summer of 2006.
The 18-year-old forward has been a revelation for Boro after making his first team bow at the tender age of just 16. He has made 41 first team appearances for the McCain Stadium side, netting nine goals, in all competitions.
Michael impressed during a trial spell with the Reds during the 2005/2006 season and has put pen-to-paper on a two year contract which will keep him at Oakwell until the summer of 2008.
Michael was one of the Reds bright young things during the 2006/2007 campaign as he impressed whenever called into the first team. A regular goalscorer for the reserves and Academy side, Michael made six first team appearances, netting one goals.
Michael spent time on loan at Northwich Victoria during the early part of the 2007/2008 campaign netting two goals in six games.
Michael's career at Oakwell looked to be stuttering through 2007/2008 but the youngster forced his way back into the manager's plans towards the end of the season with a string of outstanding displays. He was all set to become an integral part of the side before a knee injury in training curtailed his campaign. Michael is expected to be back in action by Christmas 2008.
