BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins today pulled off a sensational move by bringing Scottish international striker Garry O'Connor to Oakwell on an emergency loan from Premier League side Birmingham City.
The 27-year-old hit man has netted four goals in 15 internationals for Scotland and put pen-to-paper on an an initial one month loan with the option to extend.
Born in Edinburgh, Garry started his professional career at Hibernian, bagging an impressive 58 goals in 166 games for the Easter Road side. His prolific form North of the Border earned a move to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006 and another seven goals in 33 matches in Russian football.
He returned to the British game in June 2007 when a fee of £2.7m brought him to St Andrews. He has made 57 appearances for Birmingham City, netting 12 goals. He made his international debut against South Korea in May 2002.
The relevant paperwork has now been completed and the deal is subject to registration with the Football Authorities.
