DION'S NPOWER CALL TO ARMS

Posted on: Mon 30 Aug 2010

FORMER England star Dion Dublin is urging Football League fans to snap up new team colours this season by taking advantage of npower's new 'Football Saver' tariff.

To mark npower's newfound sponsorship of the Football League - customers that sign up to the "Football Saver" tariff will be rewarded with a £45 voucher to spend at Football League stores around the UK.

The energy provider, who is hoping to leverage its Football League sponsorship to sign up new customers, claims the Football Saver tariff is the cheapest offline tariff available and is seven per cent cheaper than its standard dual fuel tariff.

Speaking at the npower launch at the City Ground in Nottingham, Dublin said: "This is going to be one of the most competitive seasons across all three divisions of the npower Football League.

"There are so many Premier League standard clubs playing in the Football League - it's so difficult to predict who is going to go up and who is going to go down.

"The standard of the Championship has improved beyond any recognition from when I remember it in my playing days.

"And it is not just the football being played on the pitches that has improved because it all has - the stadiums, attendances and even the kits because when I was there I think I played in yellow and purple and one stage which wasn't brilliant.

"The level of football in the Championship nowadays is better then I would have thought and it is an exciting league to watch with some good clubs and I can't wait for the action to begin."
